Research Opportunities in Mechanistic Cancer Research - Molecular Oncology

About the role

The lab focuses on uncovering novel cancer targets through the study of Profilin-1 and p97/VCP, proteins with essential roles in the nucleus. Recent work has linked these proteins to transcription, DNA replication, and DNA damage repair.

Responsibilities

• Perform various standard and specialized molecular, cellular, and animal procedures such as cell culture, fluorescence microscopy, Western blot, immunoprecipitation, PCR, cloning, genetic mouse models, mouse xenografts, DNA fiber, and proximity ligation assays.
• Contribute to the understanding of the molecular mechanisms governing genome stability and its role in cancer.
• Collaborate with other researchers and contribute to the development of novel and personalized treatments for cancer.

Working conditions include exposure to biological and chemical hazards, and the ability to wear protective equipment and provide standard care to research animals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
