Research Faculty - IM General Internal Medicine (Open Rank/Track Faculty)
The Department of Internal Medicine (DOIM) is the largest department at OSUMC, with 31,000 hospital discharges and 614,000 outpatient encounters in 2016. The department has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report in multiple areas, including five internal medicine programs ranked among the best in the country: cancer, heart disease, kidney disease, diabetes and endocrine disorders, and pulmonary and geriatrics.
About the role
Open-rank tenure track position for Clinician Investigators and PhD Researchers to join the Division of General Internal Medicine (GIM) and expand our research faculty team. Duties and responsibilities are assigned according to workload guidelines in the pattern of administration of each faculty member’s tenure initiation unit (TIU) and may include research, service, teaching, or clinical practice. Faculty will have earned a doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study or possess equivalent experience.
Requirements
- Clinician Investigators: MD or DO; completion of Internal Medicine or IM-Peds Residency from an ACGME accredited program; board-certified/eligible in Internal Medicine. Fellowship training and/or a track record of independent funding is required.
- PhD Researchers: PhD in health services research, epidemiology, or a related field; at least three years of collaborative research experience in a post-doctoral fellow and/or faculty position.
Qualifications
- Completion of a primary care research fellowship, health services research fellowship, clinical scholars program, or similar is preferred.
- Established record of publishing research and obtaining funding.
- Outstanding clinical and interpersonal skills.
- Affinity for mentoring others.
- Capacity to build and maintain productive collaborations.
- Ability to build and sustain an independent program of research.
