Research Associate in Neuroscience

About the role

The Department of Neuroscience at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one year, with continuation and renewal (limited to three years total) contingent on satisfactory performance and availability of funding.

Responsibilities

• Work independently and collaboratively within research groups studying the neuronal basis of motor control in the rodent cortico-basal ganglia pathway using behavioral, neurophysiological, and viral techniques
• Conduct in vivo electrophysiology in rodents
• Perform Matlab/Python-based data analysis
• Develop independence in research through writing grants and peer-reviewed publications

Requirements

• Ph.D. or equivalent degree
• Expertise in in vivo electrophysiology in rodents
• Expertise in Matlab/Python-based data analysis
