Research Associate in Neuroscience
About the role
The Department of Neuroscience at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years).
Responsibilities
- Working independently and as part of collaborative research groups studying epigenetic mechanisms in neuronal gene expression and associated brain disorders.
- Developing independence in research through writing grants and peer-reviewed publications.
Requirements
- Expertise in the specific area of epigenetics, neuronal activity-induced gene expression and related brain disorders.
- A Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
Qualifications
- Strong academic background in neuroscience or related field.
- Experience in epigenetics and neuronal gene expression research.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Skills
- Proficiency in relevant laboratory techniques.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
