Research Associate in Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience
About the role
The role involves leading on the development and piloting of assessment protocols for a new longitudinal study focusing on the development of processing speed, language, and executive functions in a unique cohort of children from the 'Children of the 90s' birth cohort.
Responsibilities
- Lead on the development and piloting of assessment protocols for the project, including 7 assessment waves (6, 12, 18, 24, 36, 48 and 60 months).
- Involved in the day-to-day running of test sessions with infant/child participants, including at the Bristol University Baby Lab and Cardiff University.
- Develop video coding protocols and neuroimaging analysis pipelines.
- Assist with training and supervision of other team members in these protocols and pipelines.
- Conduct statistical analyses and present findings from the study at conferences and in peer-reviewed publications.
Requirements
You should have successfully completed, or be close to completion of, a PhD in psychology, cognitive science, cognitive neuroscience, or a related field. Substantial prior relevant research experience is preferred.
Qualifications
The position is open-ended with fixed funding until March 2034.
Skills
Strong interest in developmental science / developmental cognitive neuroscience is preferred.

Pay
£39,906 - £44,746 per annum
