Duties And Responsibility
- Assist with experiments, including stereotaxic surgery, immunohistochemistry, imaging, electrophysiology, and behavioral pharmacology
- Analyze experimental results using computer-aided data analysis software
- Maintains accurate databases and experimental notebooks of results
- Communicates results in a timely fashion
- Oversee mouse colony maintenance and husbandry
- Prepare buffers and reagents
- Oversee general laboratory operation, maintenance, and inventory
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in neuroscience, biology, chemistry, bioengineering, or a related field of study from an accredited institution of higher education is necessary
- At least one year of laboratory experience is strongly preferred
- Previous scientific work with rodents is strongly preferred
- Basic computer programming skills are strongly preferred, with a preference for python and MATLAB based coding knowledge
- Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of lab members is necessary
- Attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision is necessary
- Self-motivation with a strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability is necessary
