About the role
The Department of Physiology at Midwestern University, Downers Grove is seeking a Research Assistant to support the Associate Professor's research projects. The position involves assisting with animal, cellular, and molecular biology research, data collection, and manuscript preparation.
Responsibilities
- Maintain transgenic mouse colonies
- Perform cell culture maintenance
- Conduct standard molecular biology techniques
- Graph, analyze, and evaluate data
- Prepare figures for manuscripts
- Troubleshoot technical issues
- Contribute to abstracts and poster presentations
- Maintain lab cleanliness and organization
- Adhere to safety protocols and manage lab supplies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from an accredited college
- 0-2 years of relevant research experience
- Experience with laboratory mice and molecular biology techniques
- Previous experience training students
- Flexible schedule and willingness to work late hours and weekends
- Willingness to work with animal and human cell lines
