Assistant Professor- IL- Physiology
Midwestern University’s Department of Physiology, College of Graduate Studies, seeks a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor.
About the role
The successful candidate will join a physiology faculty that team-teaches in discipline-specific and integrated basic-science courses for students pursuing master’s degrees in biomedical sciences and professional degrees in osteopathic medicine, dental medicine, pharmacy, optometry, physical therapy, physician assistant studies, and other health-care programs. Faculty members are eligible for joint appointments in additional colleges based on research or teaching collaborations.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a genuine passion for teaching and a strong commitment to educating future health-care professionals.
- Teach human renal and/or respiratory physiology (preference given to candidates with this experience).
- Establish an independent biomedical research program with the potential to attract extramural funding.
- Pursue internal and external collaborative research opportunities.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or equivalent degree in physiology or a related field.
- At least two years of post-doctoral training.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong background in general physiology.
