Assistant Professor, Physiology

About the Role

This position involves teaching upper-level Animal Physiology, primarily for Pre-Medical, Pre-Dental, and Pre-Optometry majors preparing for professional school. Additional teaching responsibilities include Human Physiology and introductory biology courses. The successful candidate may also have opportunities to teach other upper-level and graduate courses in their area of expertise.

Responsibilities

• Teach upper-level Animal Physiology, Human Physiology, and introductory biology courses.
• Develop and teach additional upper-level and graduate courses in the candidate’s area of expertise.
• Conduct research and publish findings in physiology, with a preference for expertise in animal physiology at the cellular or systems level.
• Pursue external funding for research initiatives.
• Mentor undergraduate and graduate student research projects.
• Advise students pursuing professional degrees in health-related fields.
