About the Role

Full-time position (1.0 FTE) on the Day shift, scheduled for 40 hours per week within the CuSTOM Program.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a resource: demonstrate competence in specific knowledge, skills, and behaviors; communicate effectively with team members; contribute to their growth by sharing expertise; stay current with changes in key systems.
  • Perform experiments and record data: follow research protocols; maintain accurate and detailed records; analyze data and perform statistical and graphical analysis; design and execute daily laboratory experiments in coordination with senior personnel; reproduce and evaluate techniques and results for accuracy; apply standard protocols, research and improve methods, and evaluate innovative techniques; assist in training students and new/junior laboratory personnel.
  • Customer service: maintain strong working relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders; respond quickly and effectively to requests; identify and meet customer needs and expectations; communicate relevant information.
  • Laboratory administration: troubleshoot and correct erroneous results or equipment problems; maintain inventory of supplies and equipment; maintain cell cultures; operate and maintain standard laboratory equipment; perform safety monitoring checks (radiation safety, biosafety, etc.); assist in daily laboratory operations including phone coverage, supply management, organization, and cleanliness.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of work experience in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • May require an Associate degree, vocational training, apprenticeship, or equivalent

Pay

Expected starting pay range: $20.57 – $25.72 per hour. Pay is based on experience, skills, and equity; exceptions may apply for highly qualified candidates. Additional pay (e.g., shift, on-call, or weekend differentials) and benefits may apply. Annual pay may vary based on FTE status.
