About the Role
Performs a variety of routine and specialized laboratory experimental procedures, specimen preparations, and data analysis for research purposes under general supervision. Utilizes specialized laboratory equipment and troubleshoots procedures when experimental results are unexpected or specimen quality is poor.
Responsibilities
- Perform techniques typically required for the laboratory or study.
- Troubleshoot procedures and suggest alternative routine methods to crosscheck findings.
- Assist with planning specific research procedures and coordinating experiment schedules.
- Develop and troubleshoot new techniques specific to the lab.
- Maintain accurate records of results and methodologies in a log of work performed.
- Compile and help analyze data, preparing charts, graphs, and results of studies.
- Demonstrate basic laboratory techniques to assistants, technicians, research fellows, residents, and students.
- Contribute to teamwork within and between departments and organizations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a science field.
- 1 or more years of relevant research experience.
Pay
The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this role at the time of posting. The base pay offer depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and other job-related factors.
