RESEARCH ASSISTANT I- Chanda Lab - Immunology
About the role
The Chanda Lab at Scripps Research is seeking a Research Assistant I to support new technology development. The ideal candidate will work in a team environment to support the execution of key high-throughput assays, construct critical molecular toolkits, develop and validate new in vitro assays. Responsibilities include molecular cloning, human primary cell and cell line culture, preparation of media and reagents, lentivirus production, executing high-throughput assays, data analysis, and lab notebook documentation.

Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in biology, biochemistry, microbiology, or related field
- 1-3 years of related experience required
- Experience in working with mammalian cells is required
- Experience with molecular cloning is preferred
- Experience with database interface and data analysis using Excel and Prism is preferred
- Experience with automated liquid handling instruments is a plus
- Experience with gene expression analysis (RT-qPCR, NGS, etc.) is a plus
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Letter of recommendation and/or at least one professional reference is required
Physical Requirements

Compensation
The expected hiring range for this position is $20.67 to $25.06 per hour, commensurate with experience. Consideration will be given to experience that exceeds the listed requirements.
