Research Assistant I - Immunology

Responsibilities

  • Performs assays including but not limited to, virus neutralization assays, molecular cloning, mammalian and bacterial cell culture, protein purification, and ELISAs in a Biosafety Level 2 environment.
  • Performs research projects, including the collection and organization of data.
  • Follows instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Performs data entry in accurate, timely, and efficient manner.
  • Maintains clear and accurate data collection records and inventories in accordance with Good Clinical and/or Good Laboratory practices.
  • Maintains supplies in the laboratory and ensures proper cleanliness and sanitation in accordance with Good Clinical and/or Good Laboratory practices.
  • Creates, collects, disseminates, and maintains appropriate study data.
  • Affords assistance in the preparation of technical reports, summaries, and protocols.
  • Creates and communicates detailed observations on experiments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Immunology, Molecular Biology or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 0-2 years experience required.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work with a team.
  • Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques and sterile practice.
  • Optional prior experience in cell culture, ELISA or molecular cloning.
  • Good communication and analytical skills.

Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Obtains and maintains a T1/Public Trust background check.

Work Environment

This position will take place primarily in a laboratory setting.

Compensation

  • The hourly pay range for this position is $19.33-$25.
  • Actual hourly pay will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
