Research Assistant (Fixed-term, Part-time)

About the role

The successful candidate will support research in innovative high-speed magnetic bearing for net zero transportation applications. In particular, the role holder will support the hardware development of the magnetic bearing controller.

Responsibilities

• Support research in innovative high-speed magnetic bearing for net zero transportation applications.
• Support the hardware development of the magnetic bearing controller.
• Liaise with industrial partners.
• Prepare and present reports and disseminate results of their work through academic publications and presentations.

Requirements

• Hold or be shortly due to obtain a Degree (First-Class would be desirable) in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Motor Drives Systems or a Very Closely Related Topic.
• Hardware experience in power electronics and motor drives.
• Extensive practical experience in power electronics development at product level.
• Good knowledge of WBG power electronic devices.

Pay

Salary: £32,080 to £35,608 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
