Responsibilities
- Conducts behavioral experiments, which includes handling and caring for animals, administration of test substances, and collection of data.
- All experiments are done using approved IACUC protocols.
- Performs assigned technical duties in a research laboratory setting, including handling and analyzing data, preparation of solutions, and setup and maintenance of equipment.
- Carries out general laboratory maintenance.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Attention to detail by achieving thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task through concern for all the areas involved.
- Able to organize and coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner.
- Able to monitor important and complex projects concurrently within a research environment or laboratory schedule.
- Able to effectively communicate orally and in writing, to include writing and preparing memorandums, letters, and other official correspondence.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and e-mail software.
- Bachelor's Degree in a basic science/psychology/neuroscience field is required.
- Previous experience working with animals and/or in a clinical setting is a plus.
- None required.
