About the role
This role supports a line of precision 3D resins specifically formulated for the dental industry. The position can be assigned as either an Engineer or Technician level, depending on experience and education. You will assist with daily 3D projects, work with innovative technology, and develop hands-on skills in 3D printing.
Responsibilities
- Operate and evaluate DLP 3D Printers, post-cure units, and other manufacturing support equipment.
- Document and maintain procedures and test results for validation of resins on various machines and post-cure boxes.
- Provide mechanical design and CAD support when applicable.
- Assist in printing and preparing tests for R&D resins.
- Support R&D projects and new developments.
- Perform 3D workflow validations, including understanding validation processes for dental 3D resins and assisting in printer validations.
- Operate and maintain internal 3D printers.
- Assist in mechanical testing and characterization of resins, including printing and planning for full characterization.
- Assist in the development of sample processes, including printing, preparing, and polishing samples.
- Print and prepare demo parts in support of sales and marketing teams.
- Follow 3D polishing protocols and document all test data accurately.
- Optimize data collection and reporting processes.
- Work on independent projects aimed at lab growth, process optimization, and operational improvements.
- May assist in training interns or technicians.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of lab or directly related experience; 3D printing experience is ideal.
- Experience in CAD design and 3D printing.
- Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to work in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to follow instructions and comply with workplace policies.
- Proactive attitude with a strong desire to learn.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical Engineering with 3D printing experience preferred (for Engineer level).
- No degree required for Technician level.
Desired Skills
- Experience working in a laboratory atmosphere.
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
Schedule
8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday (potential to flex to 4/10s).
Pay
Technician: $23–$30/hour; Engineer: $60,000–$70,000 annually (based on experience and qualifications).
