Research and Development Engineer III
About the role
The Research and Development Engineer III is responsible for creating ideas for new and improved oilseed extraction equipment and processes. This individual quickly evaluates merit using experience, distills and shares ideas with others for screening, and performs quantitative screening using basic assumptions. They evaluate new ideas, design and construct prototypes and lab apparatus, perform lab experimentation and pilot testing, and analyze test results and data. The role involves developing new ideas, compiling, documenting, and communicating results, determining and planning next development steps, including addressing gaps and scaling prototypes or tests. Additionally, this position is responsible for developing R&D capabilities, training and developing skills in data analysis, fabrication, analytical methods, and tool delivery for the larger R&D team. It also includes improving the effectiveness and impact of R&D, drafting, reviewing, and managing patent activity, communicating results with and sharing feedback from commercial and engineering teams, and supporting customers in technology details.
