Research and Collections Librarian
Position Overview
Indiana University Bloomington Libraries seeks a dynamic and collaborative Research and Collections Librarian to lead the development, assessment, and promotion of library collections for the Kelley School of Business and the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead collection strategy for Business and Public & Environmental Affairs Colleges & Universities
Select, evaluate, and manage monographs, serials, and databases
Conduct ongoing assessments to identify gaps and opportunities
Collaborate with faculty and campus partners to align collections with research and teaching needs
Provide research consultations for students, faculty, and researchers
Promote library collections and services through outreach, instruction, and engagement
Participate in library-wide initiatives, departmental programs, and campus events
Required Qualifications
ALA-accredited MLS or international equivalent, or advanced degree in a relevant subject with appropriate library experience
Strong interest in supporting business and public affairs library users
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
Demonstrated ability to promote collections and services
Flexibility, creativity, independence, and professional initiative
Capability to meet tenure or tenure-track requirements at IU Libraries
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with business or public affairs concepts
Experience selecting library materials and managing budgets
Experience with assessment of monographs, serials, and databases
Salary and Rank
Assistant Librarian: $62,500
Associate Librarian: $64,500
Full Librarian: $82,500
Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications and experience
