About the role
The Reporting Specialist will support NIH/CIT by developing, maintaining, and enhancing reporting solutions that provide clear visibility into operational performance, project metrics, and stakeholder requirements. This role is responsible for ensuring data accuracy, building automated reporting workflows, and delivering insights through dashboards and analytics platforms. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically skilled, and comfortable working in fast-paced, mission-focused environments.
How the Reporting Specialist will make an impact
- Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards and reports using ServiceNow, Power BI, and SQL-based data sources.
- Build automated workflows and scheduled reporting solutions using Power Automate.
- Gather reporting requirements from stakeholders and translate them into actionable technical solutions.
- Validate data quality, troubleshoot reporting discrepancies, and ensure accuracy across datasets.
- Manage scheduled data refreshes, report distribution processes, and automated notifications.
- Support ad-hoc reporting needs and develop custom data extracts as required.
- Collaborate with technical teams, project managers, and functional leads to maintain consistent reporting standards.
- Document reporting processes, data models, and workflows for long-term maintainability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field
- 2–5+ years reporting/analytics experience
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow reporting and performance analytics
- Proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, data modeling, and publishing dashboards
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts
- Experience with Power Automate for creating automated reporting or workflow solutions
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple reporting tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills for presenting information to diverse audiences
Preferred skills
- Experience supporting government customers or enterprise reporting environments
- Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, or reporting standards
- Knowledge of Python, R, or other data analysis languages
- Experience with ETL tools or API-based data integrations
- ServiceNow configuration or administration experience
Pay & schedule
- Salary range: $96,569 - $130,651
- Location: Bethesda, MD (onsite with potential hybrid schedule)
- Full-flex work week
- 40 hours per week
- Travel required: Less than 10%
