About the role

We're looking for a technically skilled and customer-focused Repair Technician to diagnose, repair, test, and support sophisticated electromechanical products used by customers around the globe.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and test YSI electromechanical products and instrumentation.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic system issues using test equipment and established procedures.
- Verify product performance through functional and quality testing.
- Document repair findings, technical evaluations, and service activity.
- Develop and maintain product testing documentation and procedures.
- Communicate repair evaluations, quotations, and service recommendations to customers.
- Provide technical support regarding product performance and repair status.
- Obtain customer authorization for recommended repairs.
- Deliver professional and responsive customer service throughout the repair process.
- Share product quality trends and market feedback with Engineering and Quality teams.
- Aid in identifying recurring product issues and improvement opportunities.
- Ensure repairs comply with established quality standards and procedures.
- Support warranty and service review processes.
- Enter repair, service, and warranty information into company systems.
- Follow established Oracle, SAP, Salesforce, and quality management processes.
- Maintain accurate repair records and customer communications.
- Provide phone support backup for Repair Administration teams when needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in repair, technical service, electromechanical assembly, mechanical maintenance, electronics repair, or a related technical field.
- Experience using electronic test equipment and performing troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Mechanical, technical, electronics, electromechanical, or environmental instrumentation experience.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Able to accurately document repair activities and maintain records.
- Able to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Able to work overtime as business needs require.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology (EET), Electronics Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical discipline.
- Technical school or vocational training in electronics, electrical systems, or mechanical technology.
- Experience supporting electromechanical, environmental monitoring, instrumentation, or industrial equipment.
- Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP.
- Prior technical repair, service center, or field service experience.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain seated while performing testing, diagnostics, and computer-based work.
- Frequent keyboard and computer usage throughout the day.
- Ability to lift and move equipment and materials up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to safely perform hands-on repair and testing activities using technical tools and equipment.
Work Environment
- Technical repair and service center environment.
- Frequent use of diagnostic and electronic testing equipment.
- Regular interaction with customers and internal departments, including Engineering, Quality, and Customer Service.
- Standard full-time schedule with overtime opportunities based on business demands.
