About the Role
The Repair Technician tests, diagnoses, troubleshoots, and repairs industrial electronic and automation equipment for both company inventory and customer-owned equipment. This position also assists with designing and constructing diagnostic equipment and configuring or customizing drives and related equipment based on customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Test, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair incoming inventory
- Diagnose and repair customer-owned equipment
- Design and build diagnostic components and test equipment as needed
- Build, configure, or customize drives and related equipment for customer applications
- Follow established Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and electrical safety procedures
- Participate in training and continuing education to expand technical and repair capabilities
- Monitor and maintain an appropriate inventory of parts and supplies needed for repair operations
- Meet productivity, quality, and performance goals established by management
- Maintain an organized and efficient work area
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience with drive repair, industrial electronics, electrical work, or a related field is preferred
- Knowledge of electrical safety procedures and safe work practices is preferred
- Ability to occasionally climb or use ladders while working with inventory or equipment
- Ability to frequently move, lift, or handle boxes, parts, and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds
- Ability to communicate information and instructions clearly and effectively
- Ability to safely work with electrical and electronic equipment
