Key Responsibilities

  • Performing intermediate repairs on a partial portfolio of handpieces and/or small equipment as assigned by Supervisor
  • Performs diagnosis and failure analysis using appropriate test equipment and tooling
  • Documents device evaluation, service recommendations, parts required and preventative maintenance feedback on service work orders
  • Repairs and performs quality testing of products to established specifications as required
  • May provide technical support on a limited portfolio of products as required
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by lead or management

Specific Knowledge & Skills

  • Ability to read, understand and perform standard procedures and work instructions
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Basic electrical / mechanical skills desired
  • Basic math and logic skills required
  • Basic computer skills and software use desired
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

General Skills & Competencies

  • Willingness to learn repair of more advanced products
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment
  • Ability to work without direct supervision
  • Upholds company policies and standards

Minimum Work Experience

  • 1 year professional work experience in mechanical, production or skilled trades industries and/or proficiency in relevant repair experience

Preferred Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Additional training or experience in mechanical device repairs

Travel / Physical Demands

  • Travel – typically not required
  • Position typically works in a manufacturing environment on site where environmental conditions are stable
  • May be exposed to higher levels of noise typical in a manufacturing environment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit or stand for extended periods of time; use hands to finger, and operate manual and non-manual machinery; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, stretch and lift up to 20 pounds
  • Position requires that the employee use eye protection using certain equipment/machinery
