About the role

The Repair Station Shop Supervisor II leads and directs teams of direct labor shop employees in the Repair Station. The role is accountable for maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to quality standards while ensuring that customer demand schedules are met within established cost goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide inputs (resource planning, overtime projections, productivity improvements) to management to develop monthly and annual budgets
  • Avoidance of overtime and adherence to budget constraints
  • Aid Value Stream Manager with required monthly reporting to senior level management
  • Estimate personnel needs and assign work to meet completion dates
  • Plan shop OTJ certification requirements by product line based on sales plans and volume estimates
  • Schedule, coordinate, and track progress on the training required to certify the required number of personnel on each product line
  • Lead daily Repair Cell walkthroughs and work with Lead Technicians and the Repair Cell members to ensure that 95% or more of orders are processed through shop statuses in 6 calendar days or less
  • Aggressively work to resolve any tooling, test equipment, training or personnel issues preventing the team from achieving this objective
  • Take actions necessary to get day-to-day problems and conflicts resolved; analyze backlog reports, receipt trend reports, WIP cost trend data, CARs, Out of Tolerance Reports and shop KPIs and determine actions required to aggressively resolve any noted issues
  • Serve as liaison to other groups and/or functional areas to resolve engineering, quality, personnel, technical documentation, reliability, compliance and/or material issues impacting the Repair Station
  • Evaluate and recommend process improvements and changes in methods, equipment or procedures in assigned areas of responsibility
  • Implement improvements in workflow and methods
  • Foster and lead 5S and continuous improvement activity in the repair station
  • Propose and support Capital Equipment Requests (CER’s) as necessary to support Repair Station operational requirements

Requirements

  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience within a CFR -145 Repair Station or equivalent military experience. At least 3 years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Knowledge: Must possess a current working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (CFR145), EASA-145 and CCAR-145 or be able to acquire this knowledge quickly upon assignment into the role
  • Skills: Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of Windows and MS Office applications
  • Ability: Must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment and build teamwork and cohesion between departments and groups within the organization, must be able to support customer and regulatory authority on site audits and visits and represent Crane in a very positive and professional manner

Qualifications

  • Education/Certification: Bachelor's degree. Possess or be able to attain a CFR-145 Repairman’s Certificate
