About the role
Symbotic is an automation technology leader reimagining the supply chain with its end-to-end, AI-powered robotic and software platform. The Repair Technician II role is part of the Service Center of Excellence, which manages repairs of mobile robots and electromechanical subassemblies in the Symbotic Wilmington location.
Responsibilities
- Executes all functions of repair of Symbotic’s and subassemblies as outlined by the released OMS (Operations Method Sheets)
- Provides feedback to management on discrepancies in material or process that affect the quality of the robotic vehicle or the efficiency of the repair process
- Prepares work by studying assembly instructions, assembly drawings, and parts lists
- Gathers parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials
- Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates, fixtures, or reading measurements
- Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies
- Trains contractors in all aspects of the required role
- Performs troubleshooting of the robotic vehicle fleet, identifying anomalies and stoppages using schematic and wiring diagrams
- Aids engineers in activities for Bot improvements
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum of 2-4 years of previous experience in the Machine Shop or Manufacturing Assembly Environment
- Proficient with different schematics and wiring diagrams
- Computer knowledge using Microsoft Windows & Microsoft Word & Excel
- Initiative-taking and highly organized
- Able to lift 60 pounds and can stand for extended periods of time
- Possess an understanding of diverse types of mechanical and/or electrical test equipment
- Possess the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Self-motivated and ready to learn, absorb, and utilize information in a demanding environment
- Hands-on skill set required
Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move items up to 80 lbs
- Frequent ability to safely and efficiently lift items weighing up to 50 lbs and move items weighing up to 80 lbs
- Stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours and is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms
- Work at heights of up to 45 feet and within restrictive areas of 24 inches
- Occasional and/or continuous feeling, seeing, hearing, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, balancing, gripping, climbing, crawling, sitting, handling objects, and repetitive movement using both hands and feet
- Comply with all safety requirements and protocols, including without limitation Lock out tag out safety protocols and fall protection safety protocols
Skills
- Understanding of diverse types of mechanical and/or electrical test equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot damage or defects in the Bot or subassembly to determine what is needed for the repair
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows & Microsoft Word & Excel
- Initiative-taking and highly organized
- Ability to manage multiple tasks

Pay
The base range for this position in the posted location is $22.60 - $31.21. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Schedule
Subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily temperature changes. Must be capable of working in temperatures ranging from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit.
