Rental Yard Coordinator
Job Summary
The Yard Coordinator for the Rental Division is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the yard, ensuring the efficient and safe handling of rental equipment and materials. This role involves coordinating with various departments, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean and organized yard, with a specific focus on the rental fleet.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring accurate records.
Equipment Handling: Safely operate and oversee the use of heavy machinery and equipment, including forklifts and loaders, specifically for rental operations.
Coordination: Work closely with the logistics, maintenance, and operations teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of rental equipment.
Customer Service: Assist customers with rental inquiries, equipment check-out, and returns, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and conduct regular inspections to ensure a safe working environment.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of equipment, materials, and yard activities, with detailed logs for rental transactions.
Yard Maintenance: Ensure the yard is clean, organized, and free of hazards, with special attention to the rental equipment area.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training is a plus.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to operate heavy machinery and equipment safely.
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
Experience in customer service, particularly in a rental or sales environment, is highly desirable.
Ability to perform physical tasks and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
2 years’ experience in a similar role such as Yard Hand, Yard Jockey, Yard Spotter, Entry Level Mechanic, Mechanic Trainee, Construction Laborer, Equipment Washer, Washbay attendant, Forklift Driver, or Warehouse Worker.
Experience in a construction, industrial, or military setting.
