About the role
A Rental Sales Manager is a key position within the rental industry, responsible for overseeing the equipment rental sales team. This role demands a combination of sales acumen, managerial expertise, and a deep understanding of the rental equipment market. The primary objective of the Rental Sales Manager is to drive revenue growth by effectively promoting and leasing equipment while ensuring exceptional customer service and maintaining a strong focus on safety.
Responsibilities
The Rental Sales Manager will be responsible for the following areas:
- Sales and Marketing: Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve rental revenue targets, identify and pursue new business opportunities, conduct market research, collaborate with the marketing team, and build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor sales staff, set performance goals, conduct weekly 1:1 evaluations, foster a positive work environment, and lead by example in demonstrating ethical and professional behavior.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry safety standards and regulations, conduct regular safety training sessions, monitor and enforce safety protocols, and stay informed about the latest safety practices.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field preferred, with relevant certifications in sales management or equipment rental being advantageous.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales management, within the equipment rental industry, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and a strong understanding of the heavy equipment and general tool rental industry.
