About the role

Ryder is looking for a driven, road-ready sales hunter to own new business development. The Rental Sales Account Manager is a true outside sales position for someone who wants the freedom to build relationships, chase opportunity, and control their own earning potential.

Responsibilities

  • Hunt and close new rental business — you're not inheriting an existing book, you're building your own.
  • Travel your territory (San Antonio, Laredo, Corpus Christi, and the Rio Grande Valley/Pharr), spending most of your week face-to-face with prospects and customers, not behind a desk.
  • Represent Ryder's rental solutions to businesses looking for flexible truck and equipment options.
  • Manage your own schedule and pipeline with the autonomy of a true road warrior — overnight travel is expected and fully supported.
  • Work out of a dedicated San Antonio office base whenever you need it, with no requirement to share space.

Compensation & Travel

  • Base salary: $50,000/year
  • Commission: uncapped, performance-based (first-year earners typically add $15,000+ on top of base, with strong performers earning well beyond that)
  • Travel: regular in-territory travel with pre-approved overnight stays as needed — mileage/travel expenses supported

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in Marketing or 5 years equivalent job related experience
  • One (1) year or more sales experience or equivalent sales training required
  • Three (3) years or more sales experience preferred
  • One (1) year or more Industry experience preferred

Compensation Information

The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type. Compensation ranges for the position are below:

  • Pay Type: Salaried
  • Minimum Pay Range: $50,000 base + Uncapped Commission
  • Maximum Pay Range: $75,000 with Commission
