About the role

This position oversees and manages the day-to-day operations of a team, ensuring they adhere to THC policies and directives. The role involves leading, developing, and evaluating staff and volunteers, conducting regular meetings, and fostering a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, direct, and evaluate staff and volunteers.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled meetings, supervisions, and trainings.
  • Ensure staff are aware of and correctly implement all safety rules and regulations, and policies and procedures.
  • Hold staff and volunteers accountable for high levels of performance, team work, and quality customer service.
  • Develop and nurture collaborative relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about services and programs offered by community-based organizations (CBOs) and government agencies.
  • Develop and implement neighborhood outreach plans and leadership training programs.
  • Respond to phone messages, client requests, staff requests, and emails promptly.
  • Attend meetings and represent THC at MOHCD or related meetings as needed.
  • Facilitate and provide necessary information and documentation for site visits and audits.
  • Supervise and collaborate with staff to ensure proper client case management, tenants' rights advocacy, and community walk-in hours.
  • Coordinate a housing stabilization plan for families, including obtaining necessary documentation from landlords and communicating with them.
  • Provide crisis intervention and short-term case management services, including referrals, mediation, and follow-up support.
  • Maintain proper client notes and program documentation.
  • Submit rental assistance requests and verify client information.
  • Complete data entry and compile reports as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field strongly preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience training and/or supervising staff.
  • At least 2 years of experience in leading community organizing campaigns.
  • A strong commitment to social justice.
  • Experience working effectively with diverse, low-income, immigrant, homeless, and formerly homeless populations.
  • Experience working with clients who have mental health and substance use issues.
  • Experience working with community coalitions.
  • A thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • The ability to produce and analyze reports, and write business correspondence.
  • The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, clients, and the general public.
  • The ability to read, understand, apply language, and make independent decisions based on policies, governmental regulations, technical procedures, and contracts.
  • Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution experience.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines with excellent attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in related field strongly preferred.
