Remote Volunteer Software Test Engineer — iLevelUP

Responsibilities

• Review requirements, designs, contracts, and acceptance criteria for testability and risk
• Create detailed test cases, boundary conditions, negative tests, and data scenarios
• Execute API, integration, compatibility, regression, and exploratory tests
• Build focused automated checks when appropriate
• Record reproducible defects with environment, evidence, severity, and expected behavior
• Verify fixes and update regression coverage and technical documentation
• Use synthetic or de-identified data and approved nonproduction environments
• Coincide with quality, product, development, accessibility, security, and support volunteers
• Never perform destructive production testing or access sensitive data without authorization

Qualifications

• Experience in software testing, test engineering, development, application support, or quality assurance
• Strong API tools, browser or mobile testing, SQL basics, scripting, Git, and defect documentation
• Familiarity with accessibility, privacy, security, compatibility, and CI/CD
• Analytical, careful, and dependable remote collaboration
• At least 18 years old and willing to complete screening and confidentiality requirements
