About the role
Provide advanced project and program support for USMAO therapeutic areas, serving as a central point for team members and managing oncology program efforts. Support medical leads with budget planning, process management, and strategic oversight to ensure project goals and KPIs are met.
Responsibilities
- Manage program efforts for USMAO oncology programs, including budget planning, process guidance, and overall project progress review.
- Ensure prioritization, monitor goals/KPIs, and provide strategic feedback and proactive updates to team members and the USMAO Oncology Leadership Team (OLT).
- Anticipate and address program issues requiring action, alignment, escalation, or discussions on dependencies, risks, and information-sharing.
- Ensure compliance with appropriate SOPs and guidelines.
- Support strategic medical planning by collecting and analyzing data for annual brand strategy, tactical plans, and mid-year check-ins.
- Assist in planning key activities, roles/responsibilities, milestones, timelines, dependencies, risks, and budgets.
- Collaborate with cross-organizational stakeholders (e.g., Finance, Global Medical Affairs Oncology) to ensure alignment.
- Identify opportunities to improve, accelerate, or expand projects while maintaining high quality standards.
- Facilitate meeting management, including agenda development, meeting minutes, and action item issuance.
- Manage overall program communications and SharePoint/Microsoft Teams sites.
- Proactively engage with the broader Takeda organization to drive operational excellence and promote best practices in project management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of project management experience on cross-functional projects in a healthcare environment.
- Experience and understanding of the pharmaceutical industry.
- Demonstrated success working within matrix teams, influencing outcomes, and driving key project decisions.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and aware of larger business needs and implications.
- Ability to work both independently and interdependently in cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including clear communication of business processes and solutions in person and via Webex.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving professional environment.
- Proactive ability to recognize, predict, and prioritize issues, alert the team, and engage in problem-solving.
- Experience working within a cross-functional and cross-cultural global team structure.
- Flexibility to manage change and differing opinions with diplomacy and competence.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks of varied complexity simultaneously.
- Strong diplomacy and positive influencing abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project Professional, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience in mitigation and management of vendor performance issues.
