About the Role

This position is with a nationally respected healthcare litigation team at a longstanding law firm. The practice focuses on complex, high-value healthcare reimbursement and contract disputes for major healthcare plan providers, including single claims worth millions and large-scale arbitrations involving thousands of related claims. This is not a high-volume insurance defense practice.

Responsibilities

  • Represent healthcare plan providers in sophisticated disputes against hospitals and healthcare providers.
  • Draft motions, briefs, and other litigation-related filings.
  • Manage casework in a fast-paced legal environment, including discovery practice (document review, written discovery, and deposition preparation).
  • Assess detailed factual records and identify meaningful patterns in complex disputes.
  • Engage in client interaction, courtroom, or arbitration settings.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of litigation experience.
  • Arbitration, trial preparation, or deposition experience preferred.
  • Strong legal writing and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities.
  • Desire to specialize in healthcare litigation.
  • Top 100 law school preferred, though exceptional academic performance from other schools will be considered.
  • CA Licensed attorney in good standing.
  • Background in civil litigation.
  • Interest in healthcare litigation, managed care disputes, or other contract-driven litigation matters.
