Litigation Associate - Of Counsel (Remote)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Defend and litigate lawsuits involving a broad range of employment-related claims and agency charges
  • Advises, counsels, and trains employers on various employment and labor law issues
  • Represents employers in court or arbitration, before administrative agencies, and at mediations in employment matters, including class/collective actions and discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, contract, employment tort, and non-compete cases

Skills and Educational Requirements

  • JD from ABA accredited law school, with excellent academic credentials
  • 4+ years of experience (to be considered for an Associate role) handling California employment litigation
  • To be eligible for consideration for an Of Counsel level remote role, you must generally have at least 9+ of relevant California experience and a demonstrated ability to operate in a first chair capacity
  • Must be admitted to the CA state bar and comply with all ethical requirements in the resident state, including being barred if required
  • Understanding of current agency (state and federal) procedures
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to excellence
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills
  • Commitment to professionalism, collegiality, and teamwork

Qualifications

  • Experience in defending and litigating employment-related claims and agency charges
  • Knowledge of California employment laws and regulations
  • Experience in representing employers in court or arbitration, before administrative agencies, and at mediations in employment matters
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
