Litigation Associate - mostly remote!

We are looking for a Litigation or Transactional Associate to join our firm’s office in either San Diego (Mission Valley) or the Coachella Valley (Palm Desert). The role is mostly remote, with a requirement to commute into the respective office once a week.

About the Role

This position is ideal for an attorney with experience handling disputes involving real estate, contracts, or related civil matters, while also contributing to select transactional work tied to corporate governance. The firm emphasizes work-life balance and collaboration among its attorneys.

• Litigators may occasionally cross over into transactional work if desired.
• All-hands roundtable brown bag meeting every Wednesday for collaborative problem-solving with both litigation and transactional attorneys.
• Annual legal symposium events for clients in both San Diego (500–750 attendees) and Coachella Valley (150–250 attendees), featuring food, education, and vendor exhibits.
• Firm culture is congenial, collegial, and focused on resolving disputes outside of court when possible. The environment is calm, business casual, and not highly intense.
• Low billable hour requirement: minimum 1,620 hours.

Requirements

• 2+ years of licensed experience in California, with a background in either litigation or transactional work.
• For litigators: experience in insurance defense, land use, real estate, or breach of contract is ideal.
• For transactional attorneys: experience in corporate governance or real estate is preferred.
• Ability to commute to either Mission Valley (San Diego) or Palm Desert (Coachella Valley) once a week.
