Remote Licensed Therapist Contractor- Veteran and Military Mental Health

Responsibilities

• Provides individual and group interventions to support patients coping with mental health diagnoses, psychosocial stressors, grief, and life transitions.
• Performs cognitive screening to address functional and cognitive ability questions.
• Collaborates with patients and their families to develop appropriate collaborative care and treatment plans.
• Completes thorough psychosocial assessments and provides a DSM diagnosis to determine patient needs.
• Engages in emergency/crisis interventions and develops crisis management plans.
• Provides psychotherapy as individual, group, and family interventions when clinically indicated.
• Maintains knowledge of Veteran's benefits and services, and makes appropriate referrals to community and governmental programs.
• Provides case management services throughout the continuum of care.
• Maintains accurate documentation and completes encounters according to client regulations.

Requirements

• Licensure: Must be licensed to practice independently in any state; Psychologist, LPC, LMHC, LMFT, LCSW. Must have PsyPact in addition to state license.
• Education: Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related field OR doctoral degree in psychology.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience practicing therapy independently. Preferred experience with veterans and military members.
• Skills: Familiarity with DSM5 clinical presentations, evidence-based psychological interventions, substance use disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and serious mental illness (SMI).
• Knowledge: Knowledge of thorough risk assessment and mental health crises procedures, ability to work within interdisciplinary teams, and experience with various modalities such as ACT, CBT, CBT-I, ITP, MCBT, SPP, EMDR, DBT, and suicide risk management.
• Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams).
• Residency: Must be a US citizen and reside in the United States.
