Responsibilities
- Provides individual and group interventions to support patients coping with mental health diagnoses, psychosocial stressors, grief, and life transitions.
- Performs cognitive screening to address functional and cognitive ability questions.
- Collaborates with patients and families to develop appropriate collaborative care and treatment plans.
- Completes thorough psychosocial assessments and provides a DSM diagnosis to determine patient needs.
- Engages in emergency/crisis interventions and develops crisis management plans.
- Offers psychotherapy via individual, group, and family sessions when clinically indicated.
- Maintains knowledge of Veteran's benefits and services, and makes appropriate referrals to community and governmental programs.
- Provides case management services throughout the continuum of care.
- Maintains accurate documentation and completes therapy encounters according to client regulations.
Requirements
- Licensure: Must be licensed to practice independently in any state; Psychologist, LPC, LMHC, LMFT, LCSW.
- Education: Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related field OR doctoral degree in psychology.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience practicing therapy independently.
- Prior experience: Working with veterans and military members, providing consultations about mental health diagnosis, and treating psychiatrically and medically complex patients.
- Preferred skills: Familiarity with DSM5 clinical presentations, experience with various evidence-based psychological interventions, knowledge of mental health assessment and treatment, and experience with specific modalities like ACT, CBT, EMDR, etc.
- Technical skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Other: Must be a US citizen and reside in the United States.
