Responsibilities
- Provides individual and group interventions to support patients coping with mental health diagnoses, psychosocial stressors, grief, and life transitions.
- Conducts cognitive screening to address functional and cognitive ability questions.
- Collaborates with patients and families to develop appropriate collaborative care and treatment plans for mental health symptoms or behavioral health issues.
- Completes thorough psychosocial assessments and provides a DSM diagnosis to determine patient and family needs.
- Engages in emergency/crisis interventions and develops crisis management plans.
- Provides psychotherapy as individual, group, and family interventions when clinically indicated.
- Maintains knowledge of Veteran's benefits and services, and makes appropriate referrals to community and governmental programs or agencies.
- Provides case management services throughout the continuum of care.
- Maintains accurate documentation and completes encounters according to client regulations.
Requirements
- Licensure: Must be licensed to practice independently in any state; Psychologist, LPC, LMHC, LMFT, LCSW.
- Education: Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related field OR doctoral degree in psychology.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience practicing therapy independently.
- Preferred experience: Experience providing therapy with veterans and military members, familiarity with DSM5 clinical presentations, and experience with various evidence-based psychological interventions.
- Skills: Knowledge of thorough risk assessment and mental health crises procedures, ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams, and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams).
- Other: Must be a US citizen and reside in the United States.
