About the Role
Accountable for leading, guiding, and directing the Service Area functional responsibilities. Enable regional level strategy to address internal or external business and regulatory issues; provide functional expertise and ensure fulfillment of performance and service standards. Responsible for consistent operating performance and achieving financial goals. Identifies, defines, and solves complex problems that impact the management and direction of the business. Collaborates with System Services Area, Regions, and Health Ministries to ensure consistency and integration of strategy and operations. Maintains awareness of new industry developments and standards. Provides decision support, operations, and optimization leadership focus.
Responsibilities
- Providing advice, guidance, and leadership to RHM and Region leaders in developing strategies and achieving performance goals.
- Enabling collaboration across and within System Services area, RHM, and Regions to ensure consistency and integration of strategy and operations.
- Leading standardization, systemness, and optimization of policy, process, and methodology; establishing a national community of practice.
- Overseeing Vendor/Contract Labor Management, including centralizing strategy and optimizing spend.
- Collaborating in system-wide strategy development and deployment of functional area priorities and initiatives.
- Supporting regional efforts to comply with functional area priorities.
- Accountable for the selection, evaluation, and overall success of the functional leadership teams.
- Serving as the organization-wide focal point for establishing functional strategies and governance over financials and staffing.
- Ensuring communication between System Services functional area, RHM, and Regions leaders.
- Responsible for measuring and reporting KPIs/metrics and value delivery.
- Providing advice, guidance, and leadership for the colleague life cycle.
- Maintaining a working knowledge of applicable Federal, state, and local laws/regulations, Trinity Health Integrity & Compliance Program & Code of Conduct, as well as other policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Responsible for the development, implementation, deployment, and governance of the Trinity Health Integrity & Compliance Programs, policies/procedures, and initiatives in accordance with applicable regulatory and policy requirements.
- Developing and implementing work plans (e.g., risk assessment, resource allocation, scheduling) and reporting tools/processes for identified risks, compliance activities, and accomplishments.
- Developing, disseminating, and delivering communication, education, and training for ministries within the assigned region.
- Providing advice and guidance to ensure appropriate compliance committees operate in accordance with applicable regulatory and policy requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s level degree in business, health administration, or a related field, a law degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience with increasing levels of responsibility in health care compliance and/or consulting, including regulatory compliance, program metrics, performance assessment, and reporting outcomes.
- Possess and maintain licensure or certification in compliance, law, audit, privacy, healthcare, or other relevant field or area of study.
- At least 3 years of previous supervisory/leadership experience.
Additional Qualifications
- Master’s level degree in business, health administration, or a related field, a law degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience managing government audits, inquiries, investigations, response, and mitigation.
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Indirect/Healthcare Support Services: Occasional clinical/patient-facing work environment.
- Includes continuous work time indoors (subject to travel requirements) under temperature-controlled and well-lit conditions; may encounter occasional variable external environmental conditions.
- Includes occasional lifting, up to 30 pounds unassisted, occasional travel, frequent use of a computer; includes continuous sitting and may require occasional long periods of continued walking, standing, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing.
- Must be able to adapt to frequent interruptions, shifting priorities, and stressful situations.
- Attend to tasks until complete, understand and relate to complex ideas and concepts, and be able to remember multiple tasks and regimens extending over long periods of time while working on concurrent tasks/projects.
- Continuously read small print, frequent ability to hear normal sounds and voice patterns, able to give/receive instructions and other verbal communications in-person and over the phone/computer/device/equipment assigned with some background noise.
- Perform frequent manual dexterity activities and occasional grasping/handling.
- Continuous attention to maintain a safe working environment and use of available personal protective equipment (PPE).
