About the Role
MG+M The Law Firm is hiring experienced Litigation Paralegals to join our Toxic Tort practice group, supporting our California-based legal teams. This position requires the ability to work Pacific Time Zone business hours (9:00 am to 5:00 pm) to support our California offices. Experience handling California cases is a plus, though not required.
MG+M is a nationally renowned litigation law firm concentrating on complex civil matters, including toxic tort, complex product liability, local government, general liability, and commercial litigation. We approach litigation as a unified team, integrating our efforts with those of our clients to advance their interests wherever they do business.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple complex litigation matters simultaneously.
- Monitor case filings and provide detailed assessments to attorneys.
- Draft and prepare initial drafts of various pre-trial motions, dispositive motions, and other pleadings.
- Review and evaluate discovery documents including medical records, sales documents, employment records, and other case material.
- Compose case assessments and evaluations for review by associates and partners.
- Maintain contemporaneous accounting and submission of personal billable time.
- Consistently arrive at work and meetings on time; ensure responsibilities are covered when absent.
- Respond promptly to attorney and client requests for service and assistance; meet commitments.
- Follow instructions, complete tasks on time, work independently, and commit to the hours necessary to meet deadlines.
- Contribute to building a positive team spirit and support the success of colleagues.
Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in Toxic Tort Defense litigation is required.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel), Westlaw, PACER, and/or File & Serve Xpress.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with attorneys, other paralegals, and legal administrative assistants.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
