About the role

Summit Drilling is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Remediation Foreman to support environmental remediation, construction, and mitigation projects throughout the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. The Remediation Foreman serves as a working leader responsible for directing field crews, coordinating daily site activities, maintaining project safety and quality standards, and ensuring successful execution of remediation and civil construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise field crews of up to six (6) personnel on remediation and construction projects.
  • Cook, execute daily field operations in accordance with project plans, specifications, engineered drawings, and health and safety requirements.
  • Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair environmental remediation and mitigation systems, including:
    • Air sparge systems
    • Biosparge systems
    • Groundwater recovery and treatment systems
    • Soil vapor extraction (SVE) systems
    • Vapor intrusion mitigation systems
    • Monitoring and recovery wells
  • Oversee excavation activities, vault installations, utility installations, shoring and sheeting operations, tank removals, and related construction activities.
  • Operate and direct the operation of construction equipment including skid steers, excavators, air compressors, pumps, generators, and support equipment.
  • Cook, coordinate site logistics, material deliveries, equipment mobilization, and subcontractor activities.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings, inspections, and field documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety programs, client requirements, and applicable environmental regulations.
  • Monitor project productivity, quality, and schedule performance.
  • Communicate effectively with Project Managers, Supervisors, clients, regulators, and subcontractors.
  • Complete field reports, equipment logs, inspection records, and project documentation accurately and timely.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a leadership role within environmental remediation, civil construction, industrial construction, utility construction, or a related field.
  • Experience leading and directing field personnel and subcontractors.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and engineered drawings.
  • Experience operating construction equipment and managing excavation activities.
  • Strong understanding of construction safety practices and hazard recognition.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to travel as required for project assignments.

Preferred Experience

  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.
  • Confined Space Entry and Competent Person training.
  • Experience with groundwater treatment systems, vapor mitigation systems, and environmental monitoring equipment.
  • CDL or equipment operation certifications.

Physical And Environmental Requirements

  • Regular field work on active construction and remediation sites.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing throughout the workday.
  • Lifting and carrying materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds when mechanical assistance is unavailable.
  • Entering and exiting construction equipment and work areas repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Working in confined spaces, excavations, trenches, vaults, and elevated work areas when required.
  • Operating hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely and effectively.
  • Maintaining visual and auditory awareness necessary to identify hazards and communicate with team members.
  • Exposure to construction and remediation site conditions.
  • Controlled exposure to heavy equipment, moving machinery, chemicals, fuels, dust, vapors, fumes, and elevated noise levels.
  • Work in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, humidity, rain, and direct sunlight.
  • Travel and overnight stays as required by project demands.
