Religious School Instructor 2026-27 Part-Time

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative educator to join the Nashira Project, our Sunday morning Jewish learning community on Portland's Eastside.

Responsibilities

• Loves working with children and making Jewish learning come alive through stories, song, prayer, Hebrew, movement, and meaningful relationships.
• Experience teaching, working with children, or leading youth programs.
• School, preschool, daycare, camp, synagogue, or similar settings.
• Familiarity with Jewish holidays, rituals, traditions, and basic Hebrew.
• Comfort participating in or leading simple tefillah (or willingness to learn).
• Available for the kick-off event (September date TBD) at least 18 of the 20 Nashira sessions, and Teacher Orientation in late August.
• Time commitment: 2-3 hours/week (Sunday AM).

• Compensation: $36/hour
