About the role

The Education Director is responsible for overseeing the educational programs and initiatives of the Jewish Federation of Greater Portland. This position plays a crucial role in fostering community engagement and ensuring the continuity of educational offerings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive educational programs that align with the Federation’s mission and values.
• Collaborate with other departments to integrate educational components into broader Federation activities.
• Oversee the training and development of educators and volunteers involved in Federation programs.
• Evaluate and improve educational materials and methods based on feedback and best practices.
• Maintain relationships with local schools and educational institutions to enhance community partnerships.

Requirements

• A Master’s degree in Education, Jewish Studies, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in educational leadership or management.
• Proven ability to develop and manage successful educational programs.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience working with diverse populations and communities.

Qualifications

• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of Jewish history, culture, and values.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
