Relief Workers (Part-Time)

Arlington County Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court Services Unit is seeking a part-time Bilingual Relief Worker (English/Spanish) to supplement case coverage of full-time counselors for the Detention Diversion Program (DDP).

About the role

This employee closely monitors youth behavior at home and in the community, primarily on weekends, to ensure compliance with the Court's rules and regulations. The Detention Diversion Program (DDP) serves as an alternative to secure detention for some juvenile offenders. Instead of being detained at the Northern Virginia Juvenile Detention Center while awaiting a detention hearing, youths may be allowed to return home with their parents/guardians under court order.

Responsibilities

• Monitor youth behavior at home and in the community to ensure compliance with court rules and regulations

Requirements

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) to support juvenile offenders and parents with limited English skills
