Relief Custodian- Part-time

About the role

This position works 20 hours/week. Regular hours are 2:45pm - 10:45pm, with variable hours during summer and other school breaks.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily and scheduled housekeeping duties as required.
• Sets up and shifts furniture and furnishings, washes walls and ceilings; dusts and polishes furniture; washes windows; strips, sprays, buffs, waxes and polishes floors; washes and cleans washrooms and disposes of garbage, trash etc.
• Operates heating, lighting, ventilation and electrical controls as specified.
• Provides assistance to students, teachers, public and other employees as assigned by the Head Custodian.
• Maintains grounds including cutting grass with hand and power mowers, collecting litter, trimming bushes and small trees, raking grounds and performing snow removal as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Able to carry out verbal and written instructions and reporting procedures.
• Experience in building cleaning and minor maintenance.
• Able to create personable relations with co-workers, staff and public.
• Able to communicate clearly in English.
• Able to lift up to 100lbs.
• Willing to work overtime as needed.

Pay

Hourly Rate/Annualized Salary: $19.16 ($40,006.08) - $19.74 (41,217.12)

Benefits

This role is eligible for insurance. Those staff members who work in a position with 50% full-time equivalency but less than 75% full-time equivalency, will pay the pro rate dollar increment for the cost of the employee’s elected insurance plan associated with the full-time equivalency for their assignment.
