About the role

VCA Veterinary Emergency Service / Veterinary Specialty Center (VCA VES/VSC) is a growing emergency and specialty hospital in the Madison, Wisconsin area. We are seeking Emergency Veterinarians to join our dedicated team. As an ER doctor at VCA VES/VSC, you will collaborate with eight board-certified specialists in critical care, surgery, internal medicine, and oncology. Our three locations are staffed by a team of ER doctors, veterinary technicians, and assistants, supported by client care coordinators and customer service representatives.

Responsibilities

• Communicate closely with referring clinics and coordinate consultations and transfers to specialty services
• Perform routine surgeries, ultrasound, and endoscopy with mentorship as needed
• Primary case responsibility, building a loyal client base and healing pets
• Build a loyal client base and heal pets using superior medical judgment, empathy, confidence, and humility

Requirements

• Current license to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Wisconsin
• Experience in emergency medicine preferred but not required
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree
• Completion of ACVECC, ACVS, ACVIM, or ACOP residency programs preferred
