Relief Veterinarian
About the role
VCA Civano Animal Hospital and Emergency Center is a 24-hour, state-of-the-art emergency and 7-day a week general practice hospital located on the east side of Tucson. The hospital sees all emergency cases from minor ear and skin problems to GDV, HBC, GIFB, vomiting, diarrhea, and more involved medical cases such as DKA, septic abdomens, pancreatitis etc.
Responsibilities
- Manage urgent and critical cases with the support of an experienced nursing and technical team
- Perform diagnostics and treatments using advanced imaging and in-house lab equipment
- Collaborate with specialists and colleagues to provide exceptional patient outcomes
- Participate in a rotating schedule including swing shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays

Requirements
Current license to practice in Arizona or the ability to obtain one. Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics. Strong interest or experience in emergency medicine. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Commitment to compassionate, high-quality care.
Qualifications
- A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, from an accredited university or equivalent
- A commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics
- A strong interest or experience in emergency medicine
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A commitment to compassionate, high-quality care

Schedule
