Relief Veterinarian

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Veterinarian to join our team at VCA Butte Oroville Animal Hospital in a relief capacity. In this position you'll use your superior medical judgment combined with a high level of empathy, confidence and humility to build a loyal client base and heal pets.

Responsibilities

• Provide veterinary care to animals under the supervision of licensed veterinarians.
• Perform routine and emergency medical procedures.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Assist in surgical procedures under the direction of licensed veterinarians.
• Document patient care and treatment in electronic health records.
• Communicate effectively with clients to provide education and support.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.

Requirements

• Current license to practice veterinary medicine in the state of California.
• At least 3 years of experience in veterinary practice.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with clients and staff.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine from an AVMA accredited school.
• Completion of a residency program preferred but not required.
