About the role
The Hemophilia Center Pharmacist, per diem, oversees the operations of the Hemophilia Treatment Center (HTC) Pharmacy Program. This program serves a multi-state population of patients with bleeding and clotting disorders by providing hemophilia factor concentrates and related medications. Additional responsibilities include supervision of pharmacy technicians, participation in clinical functions, fiscal accountability, dispensation of research study drugs, assuming 24/7 on-call coverage of the pharmacy when scheduled, and compliance with the 340B PHS Program.
Responsibilities
- Provide exemplary patient care and customer service, including maintaining confidentiality and being reliably available to patients when they seek care or advice.
- Demonstrate outstanding oral and written communication skills, effectively engaging with patients, their families, faculty, and staff.
- Utilize Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and pharmacy software applications proficiently.
- Work knowledgeably with institutional electronic medical record systems (EMR).
- Collaborate effectively with individuals of diverse personalities, education, and cultural backgrounds.
- Maintain a strong understanding of pharmacy regulations.
- Uphold confidentiality in all work performed.
- Work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Provide 24/7 on-call availability as scheduled.
Qualifications
- Required Education and Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Pharmacy.
- Licensed pharmacist in the state of Louisiana.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in 340B PHS Pharmacy Drug Program management.
- Five years of pharmacy practice experience, including patient counseling and disease management.
