Relief Operator

About the role

To operate the grinding system, run accurate quality tests, operate heavy equipment, load bulk trucks, use-billing system, perform utility function or other duties as assigned for shift coverage.

Responsibilities

• Perform general housekeeping and miscellaneous tasks associated with production
• Perform quality checks to ensure mill is operating within quality specifications
• Maintain plant safety standards and follow safe work practices
• Demonstrate commitment to health, safety, and environmental policies
• Communicate effectively and improve adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments
• Assess plant needs and act as lead-hand to ensure mill operations continue in the absence of a shift supervisor

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or 2 years of equivalent experience
• Associate's Degree preferred
• General working knowledge of computers and ability to learn new software programs as required
• Ability to diagnose and/or correct mill operation issues independently
• Knowledge of plant process, quality, and production requirements
• Adherence to safety protocols and proper use of Amrize-approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including clean-shaven facial hair for respirator seals

Qualifications

Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize-approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
