About the role
This position supports and works closely with the faculty, students, and staff in the veterinary technology department to ensure all labs are set up successfully and animals are properly cared for. It is essential to the operation of the animal hospital and the academic LVT program.
Responsibilities
- Aid instructors with on-campus, online, and field trip lab set-up and break-down.
- Supervise students during labs and patient care shifts.
- Maintain facility equipment and keep lab rooms orderly.
- Manage medical records for animals.
- Admit and discharge shelter patients.
- Comply with policies, procedures, and regulations of NOVA, VCCS, AVMA, USDA, DEA, and VA Board of Veterinary Medicine.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Licensed Veterinary Technician with a valid/active Virginia License.
- Clinical experience.
