Reliability Engineer

About the role

The PPN Network Reliability Engineer position is part of the Engineering Tech Center, focusing on discipline stewardship and leadership of our Reliability program. This role will influence initiatives to improve the uptime and predictability of equipment and systems, predominantly for manufacturing sites. It will also involve leading productivity initiatives and providing technical support to sites globally.

Responsibilities

• Technical and Discipline leadership – global process owner for the Reliability of equipment, systems, and processes.
• Network continuously with site Reliability engineers, influencing initiatives to improve the uptime and predictability of our equipment and systems.
• Engage proactively with major capital projects to influence equipment/system selection, as well as the ongoing operations of these systems.
• Productivity improvement – routinely identify and implement systemic improvements focused on improving cost effectiveness, productivity, and stewardship of Lilly assets in plants/processes globally.
• Consultation - assist sites globally, especially for the Reliability resources at sites, to ensure site needs are met.
• Knowledge sharing - Provide ongoing technical support to site plant engineering groups, domestic and global (including CMOs/Alliances); provide technical mentoring to Lilly engineers; participate in the creation and maintenance of Engineering Standards and Best Practices.
• Support sites in continuing to build key technical capabilities.
• External Influence - Monitor and, when appropriate, influence changes in external standards on Lilly’s behalf, and work to ensure ongoing compliance within Lilly.
• Leverage external resources to stay current and, when necessary, complement internal resources.
• Coaching/mentoring and development of others in the discipline.

Requirements

• Bachelor's in an Engineering Field
• 5+ years’ experience in a plant engineering, Reliability, or maintenance area.
• Hands-on manufacturing or plant experience in a regulated environment, with direct application of cGMP requirements.
• Demonstrated leadership ability with key accomplishments of influence across a broad spectrum.
• Technical areas of expertise include sound engineering fundamentals and physical plant systems.
• Project coordination experience.

Basic Requirements

• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Experience using GMARS/Maximo software application.
• Knowledge of procurement processes.
• Proven business acumen.
• Good PC skills; excellent verbal and written communications skills; strong problem-solving and analysis skills (including appropriate use of data and metrics and ability to form a business case).
• Ability to work independently and, as such, must be a self-starter and capable of working with little direction.

Additional Preferences

• Experience using GMARS/Maximo software application.
